With over 72 million Americans suffering from chronic low back pain, it’s no wonder that spine pain and disability are costing businesses trillions. To help combat this and learn how the future of spine care medicine can be dramatically improved by artificial intelligence (AI) and personal patient coaching, we hosted a Roundtable: Pioneering Technology to Instantly Connect Patients with World-Class Spine Care to discuss just that. 

As National Physical Therapy (PT) Month came to a close, we squeezed in one more PT-related activation hosted by the very students who are studying the subject at hand. Our Showcase: Physical Therapy Open House invited Bridgeside community members to learn more about what's happening in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Physical Therapy (DPT), uncover how to manage lower back pain, and discover the numerous benefits of PT!

Hosted on the fifth floor of Bridgeside, current and new Pittsburgh chapter members of Women In Bio (WIB) came together to network over drinks and small bites while enjoying a presentation by organization sponsor, Clinical Research Strategies, about the lifecycle of products in healthcare.

With October being National Physical Therapy (PT) Month, it was the perfect time to host a Coffee Talk in the Bridgeside lobby to enjoy complimentary caffeine and doughnuts while discussing the latest and greatest trends in the industry. 

To celebrate the end of summer, the Pittsburgh Technology Center Association’s (PTCA) hosted the first-ever PTC Street Festival Happy Hour – an afternoon filled with live music, food trucks, local vendors, and more!

At the start of the new school year, the University of Pittsburgh’s Aging Institute welcomed the students of Bridgeside to discover what’s new at the facility, learn about training opportunities, and even get a tour of the space. 

At Bridgeside, we know our University of Pittsburgh Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) students are well versed in their respective studies, but how well would they fare when it comes to drinking? (Don't answer that, it's rhetorical.) Trading in resistance bands for champagne flutes, we decided to put our community members to the test with our Math + Mimosas: Kitchen Conversions activation one early September morning.

As a mid-week break from the status quo, Thermo Fisher, a world leader in scientific products and services, invited members of the Bridgeside community to attend a two-part showcase around digital PCR (dPCR) and High Content Cell Analysis.

Always one to extend a warm welcome, we wanted to introduce our newest tenant to our Bridgeside community in hopes of sparking connections and cultivating culture. So, we invited our members and prominent local leaders, executives, educators, and students to join us at Eliza at Hotel Indigo for a life sciences-focused happy hour, complete with delicious drinks, complementary cuisine, and numerous networking opportunities.

What better way to start the new semester than to meet fellow students with similar interests over complimentary coffee and pastries? So, we hosted a Back to School at Bridgeside Pop-Up in the first floor lobby to get to know our community members a bit better. 

Meet Emma Cemalovic, Student and Fundraising Chair for the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Physical Therapy (PT). When she isn’t busy being active, watching tv, and spending time with friends, you can find her studying and fundraising.

By now, we’re all well aware of the Great Resignation and how this ongoing economic trend resulted in over 47 million people voluntarily resigning from their jobs. According to Wikipedia, possible reasons for this mass exodus include wage stagnation, job dissatisfaction, safety concerns, and remote work opportunities. But what about those who specifically transitioned from academia to industry? To share insight into this particular career shift, we hosted a Power Meal around this exact topic at the end of July.

Halfway through 2022 already, we decided to use this as a checkpoint and host a Power Meal around the driving forces that have changed the life sciences industry historically – and what we can expect to see in the future.

In honor of April being Occupational Therapy (OT) Month, we wanted to celebrate our hardworking students and staff with a mid-week, morning pick-me-up. Complete with coffee, hot chocolate, and doughnuts, we invited community members to stop by to connect with others and get challenged on some themed trivia.

The mission of the Aging Institute is to understand how and why we age – and to leverage this information for new therapies to treat age-related diseases. With new findings and discoveries each day, we wanted to highlight all of the hard work and research being done inside Bridgeside Point I.

With just a couple of days remaining in March to celebrate Women’s History Month, we thought none better than to invite the Women In Bio (WIB) organization to Bridgeside so our community members could learn more about what they do and their benefits of membership.
